Yariana was born in Puerto Rico and went to the University of Puerto Rico for a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management. After graduating, she pursued a Master’s degree in Diplomacy with a focus on conflict Management at Norwich University. Motivated by the political climate and heightened scrutiny of refugees, she moved to Washington D.C. to work as an intern in the Silver Spring office of ECDC and Amnesty International while finishing the her graduate education. Afterwards, she took a full-time position at ECDC where she worked as the Resettlement Program Manager, managing all resettlement programs: handling reporting duties, preparing for audits, and coordinating the resettlement team. She currently holds the Resource Development Manager position and works with grant writing and reporting and volunteer coordination.
