- Position Title: REA Services Program Manager (Refugee, Entrants and Asylees)

Job Summary: This position’s focus is on the managing of case management services to diverse populations (Ukrainian Humanitarian Parolees and Cuban/Haitian entrants etc). The Program Manager will supervise Gap Service Case Workers and support them in providing services to help newcomers integrate quickly and easily within the host community and achieve economic and personal self-sufficiency. The Program Manager will lead efforts to conduct outreach into the local community to ensure that newcomers in the region are aware of the services they are eligible for through the UHP Program.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervisory: The Program Manager will responsible for training and overseeing the efforts of Gap-Services caseworkers and the Program Coordinator.
2. Outreach: The Program Manager will lead and directly conduct outreach to the local community in order to ensure that all newcomers are educated on eligible services.
3. Subject-Matter Expertise: As the situation and the program develops, the Program Manager will become the internal subject-matter expert on all UHP matters.
4. Case Management: As needed, the Program Manager may fulfill duties of a UHP Case Manager to provide services to clients including to:
- Follow established eligibility criteria; identify individual client needs; develop service plans with self-sufficiency goals; provide general and mental health referrals; assist with employment efforts and job searches; and other assistance as determined appropriate
- Maintain accurate and quality record of all clients; maintain electronic and paper files of all clients based on program standards; track client progress, conduct case closures;
- Collect and record accurate quantitative data for internal assessment of program effectiveness and for state reporting and auditing.
- Make appropriate referrals and assist with applying to social service agencies, community resources and other organizations according to program guidelines such as Food Stamp, filing for disability and age-related SSI, Medicaid and specialty housing, ESL and other training programs.
- Provide transportation assistance to and mediation at doctor’s appointments and emergency room visits as well as job interviews.
- Educate clients on rental policies and assist with mediation with landlords; connect participants with community emergency rental assistance.

Job Summary: This position is responsible for assisting RP/APA, refugee and asylee clients with seeking, obtaining, and maintaining employment, thereby attaining self-sufficiency. Other duties include preparing progress reports, and tracking financial expenditures and statistical data.
Key Responsibilities
1) Job Development
-Assess new clients’ employment and education by completing Employability Plans during weekly intakes.
-Conduct job search and complete job applications on behalf of Employability Service program participants.
-Facilitate all employment efforts with these participants: interviews, drug
tests/physicals, employment paperwork, employment verifications, challenges in
the workplace, etc.
-Work intensively with clients to improve employability through small-group
orientation and training sessions, including job interview preparation and job skills development, among other topics.
-Design schedules for trainings based on client language requirements. Job readiness and resume building workshops will be implemented on a regular basis and interview preparation classes will be provided when coordinating group interviews for open hiring.
-Develop and maintain a job data bank.
-Identify and provide clients with information on recertification, no- to low-cost
training programs, volunteer opportunities, and other resources if appropriate.
2) Outreach
-Conduct outreach to businesses in the Great Washington area on a regular basis.

3) Program Compliance
-Follow-up with employers after applications are submitted.
-Assist with transportation to, and interpretation of, interviews.

- Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator / Community Engagement Specialist

Job Summary: The Cultural Orientation Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the Cultural Orientation program for recently-arrived refugees. The program is designed to support the successful resettlement of refugees by helping refugees understand the rights and responsibilities that they have in the U.S.; building the knowledge of refugee participants about their new communities; and ensuring that refugees have the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to achieve self-sufficiency. Cultural orientation is delivered in accordance with timelines and requirements of federal, state, and other funding sources.

Key Responsibilities:

Teach cultural orientation curriculum to newly-arriving refugees. Topics will include: the role of the resettlement agency, the rights and responsibilities of refugee status, the importance of learning English and different supports available to help refugees learn English, public assistance benefits, an overview of U.S. laws, employment and strategies to obtain and retain employment, health and wellness, budgeting and personal finance, housing, hygiene, safety, cultural adjustment, education, and transportation. Many students will be limited English speakers.

Assist in the development and ongoing modification of the cultural orientation curriculum to ensure it remains relevant to the changing needs of clients and any changes to the welcoming community.

Manage relationships with key community partners to ensure that curriculum is accurate and relevant, and to ensure that the curriculum includes guest speakers and other experts. Partners include, but are not limited to, Immigration Legal Services staff, local police departments, school districts, and public transportation.

Conduct pre- and post-program assessment with refugee participants. Share findings from the post-program assessment with each refugee’s team in a timely manner and track outcomes for reporting purposes.

The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting and managing volunteers, volunteer groups and interns, in coordination with agency management and staff. The volunteer coordinator tracks volunteer hours and keeps the volunteer database updated. Alongside the Resource Development Manager (RDM) the Volunteer Coordinator will manage and be the main point of contact for ACC DC Metro’s Community Co-Sponsorship Program.
Key Responsibilities
1. Volunteer Recruitment and Management- Developing a robust volunteer and intern program

Job Summary:
The Communications Specialist will support internal and external communications for the DC Metro branch offices in the DMV region. They will develop a communications strategy, oversee social media, coordinate communications related material and logistics for events, requests as well as liaise with ECDC headquarters on internal and external story requests.
Communications Strategy:
· Develop a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with the goals and objectives of the DC Metro branch offices.
· Identify key messaging, target audiences, and appropriate communication channels.
· Ensure consistency in messaging across all communication materials.
Social Media Management:
· Oversee the management of social media accounts for the DC Metro branch offices.
· Create and curate content for social media platforms to engage and inform the target audience.
· Monitor social media activity and respond to inquiries or comments in a timely manner.
Event Communications:
· Coordinate communication-related materials and logistics for events, including invitations, promotional materials, signage, and media outreach.
Storytelling &Impact communication
· Liaise with ECDC headquarters to fulfill internal and external story requests related to the DC Metro branch offices.
Branding and Approval:
· Ensure that all communication materials, including program-specific and city-specific materials, adhere to branding guidelines.
· Seek necessary approvals for printing and dissemination of communication materials to maintain consistency and compliance.
Content Production and Distribution:
· Create and distribute communication materials such as factsheets, achievement reports, brochures, newsletters, regular social media posts, website updates, and press releases.
· Improve visibility of the DC Metro branch offices among partners, key decision-makers, and other interested parties.
· Support fundraising efforts by developing compelling communication materials that highlight the impact and value of the organization.

Experience Education Knowledge &
· Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or International Development or a related field.
· Proven work experience in a communications role or similar, preferably within the nonprofit sector.

The Immigration Staff attorney provides legal representation to immigrants in applications and petitions for immigration benefits in Immigration Court and USCIS; specifically, the Immigration Staff attorney is responsible to represent Afghan Nationals in cases such as Asylum (affirmative and defensive), Adjustment of Status, Appeals to the Board of Immigration Appeals, Consular Processing, Employment Authorization Documents, Naturalization and Citizenship, Refugee/Asylee Relative Petitions, Special Immigrant Visa (SIV), Temporary Protected Status (TPS), T Visas, U Visas, VAWA, Waivers of Inadmissibility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducting intakes and providing legal consultations and alternatives to Afghan Parolees to determine eligibility for legal relief;
- Preparing and submitting immigration applications and petitions of Afghan nationals for:
- Family reunification petitions
- Consular processing;
- Adjustment of Status;
- Affirmative and Defensive Asylum Proceeding;
- Special Immigrant Status (SIV);
- Making appropriate referrals to other service providers and relevant community partners;
- Representing clients before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the Executive Office for Immigration Review, and the Board of Immigration Appeals, including attending immigration interviews, immigration court hearings, and Info-pass appointments;
- Keep track of the status of each filing or cases;
- Conducting outreach, leading trainings, and participating in networking activities;
- Providing functional supervision of the Legal Assistant, case managers and paralegals;
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Managing Director.
QUALIFICATION
1. Required Education: J.D. or LLM degree from an accredited ABA institute;
2. Required Certification/Licensure: a valid License to practice law in the United States as of start date;
3. Preferred experience with immigration law, non-profit or legal aid;
4. Preferred experience working immigrants and/or multi-lingual & multi-ethnic cultures;
5. Preferred experience working with low income, marginalized populations, immigrants, victims of trauma, or a willingness to be trained in this capacity;
6. Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong writing and demonstrated intercultural communication ability;
7. Proficiency in Outlook, MS Word, MS Access, MS Excel and database programs;
8. Positive attitude and willingness to be part of a team and also work independently is desirable;
