Communications and Events Intern

Overview

The Communications and Events Intern’s main responsibilities involve assisting in the development and execution of communication plans and events to effectively convey the organization’s mission, values, and impact to diverse audiences.

  • This includes creating compelling content for various platforms, such as newsletters, press releases, social media, and website updates.
  • Throughout the internship, the Communications Intern has the opportunity to engage with the community, respond to inquiries, and interact with the audience to promote ECDC’s local branch activities and events.
  • Additionally, as a key member of the resource development team, they will be assisting in the planning, organization, and execution of organization-wide events. This includes researching potential venues, vendors, and suppliers, as well as managing event logistics and timelines.
  • Collaborating with various teams, the Communications & Events Intern will play a role in ensuring consistent digital messaging and seamless event execution across all channels throughout the semester, under the guidance and supervision of their supervisor and team.
  • The candidate will also have an opportunity to gain experience in grant writing and fundraising campaigns as desired.

Refugee Client Services Intern

Overview

The Refugee Client Services Intern works closely with their supervisor to accomplish their responsibilities and goals.

  • They maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with relevant policies and regulations, under the guidance and supervision of their supervisor.
  • Additionally, the intern actively participates in team meetings, training sessions, and workshops, collaborating with their supervisor to enhance their understanding of refugee issues and best practices.
  • They receive support and direction from their supervisor while providing direct assistance to clients, including housing, healthcare, education, employment, legal services, and other essential resources, in alignment with the organization’s objectives.
  • Furthermore, the Refugee Client Services Intern collaborates with their supervisor and case managers to ensure comprehensive and coordinated services for each client, working together to facilitate the clients’ access to community resources and social services that meet their specific needs and preferences.
  • They engage in regular communication with their supervisor, receiving guidance and feedback, as they conduct outreach efforts and build relationships with local service providers and support services.

As the Resources Development, Community Engagement, and Communications Intern, this internship will provide you with a multifaceted experience supporting our organization’s mission and outreach efforts.

  • Under the guidance of our team, you will actively contribute to various aspects of resource development, community engagement, and communications to enhance our impact and presence within the community.
  • You will collaborate with the donations team to manage and coordinate the receipt, storage, and distribution of donated goods to refugee clients.
  • Your role will involve assisting in outreach efforts to potential donors, community organizations, and corporations, as well as participating in donation distribution efforts to clients and maintaining donor databases.
  • Additionally, you will have the opportunity to contribute to writing grant proposals and funding applications to support our initiatives further.
