The Women’s Empowerment Program was established to support refugee and immigrant women as they build new lives in the DMV area. Recognizing the complex challenges these women face, the program provides access to social, employment and health and wellness resources. It is designed to foster connection to each other and the larger community, encourage personal growth, and build confidence.
This program offers a safe and welcoming space where women can engage in guided activities, attend workshops, and have peer support. Through participation, women reduce social isolation, develop job skills, improve mental and physical well-being, and learn to advocate for themselves.
Program Focus Areas:
Professional Development Workshops – Empowering women with tools for career growth and self-sufficiency.
Skill-Building Activities – Enhancing personal and practical skills such as in a group sewing class.
Field Trips & Community Integration – Encouraging social connection and engagement within the broader community. Including learning transportation, school and U.S. healthcare systems.
